Get Well Soon

April 7, 2013

This is yet *another* card that I made using the Modern Basics set by PTI. It’s such a fabulous set! I’m finding it to be incredibly versatile and my new ‘go to’ set. Enjoy!

Simple Thanks

April 6, 2013

More thank you cards!!! This one was super simple. Just this gorgeous butterfly (no idea where it’s from… it’s just a completely random rubber cling from my stash) and a sentiment stamp from Verve. I sure do love me some Verve!!! I made several of these in a selection of different colours. Simple way to boost my stash!

Cheerful Thanks

This stamp set is called Funky Floral from PTI. It’s a bit funky for me…lol… so much so that I had a hard time coming up with something to do with it that I liked. Several cards hit the recycle bin in the process. Anyway, just adding another card to my Thank You stash.

More Yellow and Modern Basics

March 12, 2013

I had the my yellow ink out from the last card and just kept going! I don’t know what it was… maybe the sunshine we’ve been having lately, but yellow stamping has been making me happy lately. 🙂

This card I’ve seen several variations. Stamped, punched and stamped, oriented squarely and in this diamond variation. Just a pretty, modern flower. Simple. Just the way I like it. 🙂

Get Well Soon

What’s more cheerful than pretty yellow butterflies? I was CASE-ing this card because I *love* it. Again, I was going from memory because my stamping time is too limited to spend my time hunting for a bookmark. lol!! So I remembered the basic layout, but ended up with some of the minor elements being different. I’m happy with how it turned out and hope the recipient will too!

Hello Friend!

March 8, 2013

Two cards in today’s post. I started out trying to recreate my own version of Maile Belles card. One I started by stamping the solid butterfly image and then stamped outward from there. When I completed some of the stamping, I realized I liked it like that. So I stopped and stamped a second one, this time completing the entire front of the card. Then simply added a sentiment (Verve) and called it done! I think I actually prefer the first card, what do you think?

Modern Basics

March 7, 2013

I’m behind the times. I know. I’m okay with that. 😉

I recently bought the Papertrey Ink Modern Basics stamp set. I’ve been having so much fun with it!! This first card is one that was inspired by one I saw months ago. Somewhere. I didn’t bookmark it. I just have a vague recollection of it. So I’d be surprised if there is more than a basic layout similarity as that’s the part that stood out in my memory when I started playing around. I chose the blue/green combo because I initially intended for this to be a sympathy card that could go to a man or a woman. But then discovered that my sympathy stamps are all a bit too ‘fancy’ for this stamp set. So it became a get well soon card. That works too. The sentiment is by Verve.

One more thing… I finally found a place that actually makes my cards closer to white when I photograph them. I’ve yet to become talented enough to both make cards look white an eliminate odd shadows in the picture. So that shadow at the bottom is my camera. I’ll keep trying!

Have you ever….

March 6, 2013

fallen in love with a stamp set? I *LOVE* the Modern Basics stamp set. I know I am incredibly behind the times when it comes to current trends, because this set came out sometime in 2011 (I think??) but it is too much fun!!! I have about a weeks worth of cards to post that I made with just this set. I just have to wait for the sun to come out so that I can take some pictures. Stay tuned…

Hello Spring….

March 5, 2013

The gorgeous wreath stamp is the ‘Wreath for all Seasons’ from Papertrey Ink. Love it! Stamped the ‘flowers’ in both green and yellow for that early spring feel. I don’t think you can really see the green in the photo, but I was going for a buds and blooms look. Stickles brighten it up even more. I only wish I had stamped my little birdie friend in brown instead of black. He’s a little bit stark. Oh well. He’s still cute! I’ll fix him on the next card I make.
