You Warm My Heart
This card has been waiting patiently to be posted for a while now! lol Quick and easy as is my preference lately. A couple of CTMH stamps, brown ink and a brown pen for faux stitching. Add in a little bit of bling with stickles for the red hearts and call it done! I thought this card would be suitable for valentines day or for several other occasions! I finally got some time at my stamping desk last night, so there are more posts to come! (Now if only the wind would die down so I could take some better pictures out on the deck!)
A Couple of Valentines
Here are a couple of valentines that we made at the class as well. Very simple… as it turned out the ladies attending the class had never used acrylic stamps before, so these two cards gave them a chance to get used to how they work. A little bit of Crystal Effects (Diamond Glaze… not sure what else that stuff is called! lol) on the first card to make the heart pop. The second card is just plain ‘ol stamping, but still cute I thought! All stamps on these cards are from CTMH.
January Class Cards
Hi there! Just thought I’d post a few of the cards we did at the class this weekend. I am starting these classes from the ground up… ie. we just moved here 4 months ago and so I don’t know what the skill level of people attending will be, so I’ve kept things fairly simple for now. It worked really well for those attending the class yesterday.
I got on a rainbow kick after the last card, so came up with this design. The letters were cut on my cricut, and then I just matched the colours with a row of eyelets underneath.

And for something completely different, we made this sympathy card. Multilayered stamping with a CTMH set. The sentiment is by Verve.

A Challenge + An Experiment = Success!!!
I am so pleased with this card. I love participating in challenges, but always struggle to make my card ‘fit’. This weeks Runway Challenge is rainbows. I dug through my stamps, got an idea for this scroll image and it actually worked! What’s more, it turned out exactly they way I imagined it in my head! Woohoo!! That rarely happens! lol All stamps are by Verve. The flourish stamp is from the Birthday Blessings set, the sentiment is from Wordy Birds. I used the Classy Label Die to showcase the sentiment. You may be able to see the Diamond Stickles I added to the leaves at the end of each flourish… at least the sun was shining when I took the picture!
I might make another of these cards with a slightly different sentiment, but I still *love* the end result of this card! What’s more…. hubby does too!! Since he is the one who made a special request for a pile (yes! A PILE!) of thank you cards, that’s an added bonus! The picture just doesn’t do this justice… the weather is so cold outside that it would freeze my camera, so I had to do the best I could inside. Which is lacking. But you still get the idea. Anyone out there have any tips for photographing cards that are mostly white?
Predominantly Purple Challenge
Hi there! Another post today because I wanted to play along with the current challenge at Less is More!
This card is very simple…. sponged the purple square before added the stamping on top. A quick sentiment and a ribbon – done! If I recall correctly, all stamps are by CTMH.
Rainbow Birthday
Two birthday cards posted this week, I figured I’ll finish off the week with a third! I haven’t done a rainbow card in a while, so I had fun with this one! The circle stamp is from a new to me CTMH stamp set and the sentiment is from Verve… the same one I used on another card this week. Nice and flat so I can easily toss this one into the mail!
Celebrate!
Red and White and Black all over!
Found my camera! Wouldn’t you know, it was in the most obvious and yet hidden place! ha! No matter… pictures are now taken (albeit not the greatest because I had to do indoors due to the snowstorm outside) and I can post again.
Oddly enough, with all the new stamps in the house, this first card I have to post uses an older Verve set. Go figure! I think it turned out well though… a simple, graphic, suitable for a guy birthday card! Those are hard to come up with most times! And it is perfect for the Runway Inspired Challenge… just found out about this challenge site! Such fun!
Still Here!
I haven’t disappeared… well, not entirely! It’s just that December is an incredibly busy month around our house so I tend to get caught up in the ‘must do’ list and my ‘fun stuff’ list goes by the wayside. But not to worry!! I have a TON of new stamps to ink up in the next while. My wonderful hubby found me dozens (Yes! I said dozens!! They were $3 a set!! lol) of ‘new to me’ Close To My Heart stamp sets that he gave me for Christmas and I was also able to indulge in my annual Verve stamp purchases when they were on sale just before New Years. I have been busy the last couple of nights stamping away, so have lots to photograph and post in the next couple of weeks. Now if I could only find my camera…. that is on the priority list for tomorrow!!
Good ‘Ol Charlie!
One of my favourite Christmas stamps ever, although I usually have a hard time coming up with something to do with him. No exception here. I’m generally happy with the design, although I think I will see if I can find a wider ribbon and will also use dimensional adhesive under the rectangle section that has Charlie Brown if I make more of this particular card. I think that might make me happier. I used scrap patterned paper (love my scraps! lol) and coloured Charlie with my copics. The Charlie Brown stamp is by Rubber Stampede. I’ve tried to find other Peanuts stamps, but they seem to be really hard to find. I guess I’ll just hang on to mine and keep trying to come up with something new to do with it!
